Provider Development

Offering training and development for home-based child care providers, publicly funded childcare centers, early childhood staff and programs under the DCHS Early Childhood Division, and community partners. 

For inquiries about becoming a registered childcare provider or to request a training, please contact us at earlychildhooddevelopment@alexandriava.gov or 703.746.5437 (KIDS). You can also visit our offices from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center (4850 Mark Center Drive). 

Professional Development for Early Childhood Programs

The Provider Development team supports individuals in completing the necessary steps to become an in-home childcare provider. Additionally, they offer guidance, training, and monitoring to help existing local agency regulated and state licensed providers in the City of Alexandria. The program also provides ongoing training and professional development opportunities both in-person and virtually.
