Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is hosted by the Alexandria Commission for Women. The event is a mentoring opportunity. Showing our daughters and sons and other youth how all people contribute to the work force and collaborate with others in a business environment helps support the creation of a more equitable world for our children. For a detailed look, please visit daughersandsonstowork.org.

Volunteering

For this event, we have “Career Tours” in popular career fields from which the youth students choose. The students will be put into groups of three. Each themed “Career Tour” consists of three locations related to the career theme. The Commission for Women seeks volunteers to take the students to the different locations. The tour guide will be responsible for the students all day during the tours and must be able to drive the students. The tour guide will also be required to complete a background check. If you are interested in becoming a tour guide, email Jacinta Greene at greenejacinta@gmail.com.
