FACILITY HISTORY
Charles Houston—esteemed African‑American lawyer, dean of Howard University Law School & NAACP litigation director—was instrumental in dismantling Jim Crow, earning him the moniker “The Man Who Killed Jim Crow.” He is equally celebrated for mentoring future Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.
