Survey: Why Does History Matter?

For Immediate Release: March 8, 2022

The past couple of years have been tumultuous for many of us, and we at Historic Alexandria want to know how we can better support and engage you in 2022 and beyond. Will you please share your thoughts by taking our survey? https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/6659740/2022-Annual-Survey-of-Museum-Goers?museum=officehistoricalexandria

Why this survey?

We at the Historic Alexandria Museums - Alexandria Archaeology, Alexandria Black History, the Apothecary Museum, Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, Fort Ward Museum, the Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum, Friendship Firehouse Museum, and the Freedom House Museum - care deeply about making the history we share with you, our community, and our visitors, meaningful.

But we need your help. Our guests come to us with different needs and values, and we want to understand them so we can best serve you. From how museums (like ours!) can support your wellbeing in these tumultuous times to how we address challenges our society is facing, we need to hear your thoughts.

To learn more about how we can do this, we are participating in a national survey of museum-goers, sponsored by the American Alliance of Museums. This survey will provide us with data from our guests as well as nationwide results for context, helping us be more effective in the coming months and in the community we serve.

The survey only takes about 9 minutes to complete, but in those 9 minutes you will help our team make better decisions for our future. And as a thank you there will be an opportunity for you to win one of ten $100 Visa gift cards!

Simply go to https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/6659740/2022-Annual-Survey-of-Museum-Goers?museum=officehistoricalexandria to get started.

Note: Participation in this survey is voluntary and no questions are required. All responses to this survey will be kept confidential. Your response will not be used for any future solicitation. Participant information can be found here. If you have any problems with the survey itself, please contact the survey administrator, Jessica Strube, at jessica@wilkeningconsulting.com.
