Juneteenth Concert with Washington Revels Jubilee Voices Moves Indoors to City Hall Today
Celebrate Juneteenth today in Historic Alexandria with a powerful, free concert featuring the acclaimed Washington Revels Jubilee Voices. Due to forecasted rain, the concert has moved indoors and will now take place from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Vola Lawson Lobby at City Hall (301 King Street).

This spirited performance, originally scheduled for Market Square, will feature traditional African American storytelling and songs that honor the resilience, history, and hope of the Black experience in America. Through music, spoken word, and historical narrative, Jubilee Voices brings to life the journey from enslavement to freedom.
The City of Alexandria invites the public to join this inspiring Juneteenth celebration, which commemorates June 19, 1865—the day news of emancipation finally reached the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas. Now a national holiday, Juneteenth honors the enduring struggle for freedom and justice.
