W. Glebe Road Bridge to Close to Vehicle Traffic on May 9
Due to safety concerns, Arlington County will close the W. Glebe Road bridge to vehicles starting Monday, May 9. Pedestrians and bicyclists will still be able to use the bridge through June, after which they will be routed to a temporary crossing to be built next to the bridge. The decision to close the bridge to vehicles was made following a March 25 bridge inspection. See below for bridge detour maps; for all additional information, visit the Arlington County West Glebe Road Bridge Reconstruction page.

CSX Rail Bridge
CSX Rail Bridge over King Street and Commonwealth Ave. Maintenance Update
The rail bridges over King Street and Commonwealth Ave. in the vicinity of the King Street Metro station are owned and maintained by CSX. In February of 2021, it was reported to the City that a number of pieces of wood had fallen from the bridge, resulting in a temporary closure of King Street. The City has worked closely with CSX to investigate the cause of the issue, to ensure proper repairs are made, and the bridge remains in safe condition. Correspondence regarding this effort can be found below.
