In preparation for the renovation of City Hall, the Department of Project Implementation has moved to a new location just off East Eisenhower Avenue at 2331 Mill Road, Suite 302. The Department of Project Implementation (DPI) was created in 2013 to expedite the completion of capital infrastructure projects within the City of Alexandria. Over the years DPI’s role has expanded to include the design and implementation of projects addressing roadways, sidewalks, and intersections; transit facilities; stormwater, flood mitigation and sanitary sewer infrastructure; as well as trail and park improvements. Projects range in size from small sidewalk improvements to more complex investments such as the Potomac Yard Metrorail Station project and Waterfront Flood Mitigation program. DPI also serves as the City’s project management organization, helping to establish and promote project management excellence.
