Juneteenth Schedule of Services for the City of Alexandria
All City of Alexandria government offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. Other schedule changes and closures are listed below.
Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS)
Friday, June 19: ACPS schools and offices are closed.
Alexandria Transit Company (DASH)
Friday, June 19: DASH bus service will operate regular service.

The free King Street Trolley operates from King Street Metro to City Hall/Market Square with service every 15 minutes, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day, including holidays.
Please note that DASH Administrative Offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.
Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA)
Friday, June 19: Closed.

Courts
Friday, June 19: The General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Court Service Unit, Circuit Court, and the Clerk of Circuit Court will be closed.
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Friday, June 19: Closed.

All emergency hotlines operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including the Child Protective Services Hotline at 703.746.5800; the Domestic Violence Hotline at 703.746.4911; the Emergency Mental Health Services or substance use crisis hotline at 703.746.3401; the Adult Protective Services hotline at 703.746.5778 or 988; and the Sexual Assault Hotline at 703.683.7273.
Health Facilities
Friday, June 19: The Alexandria Health Department, Flora Krause Casey Health Center, and the Teen Wellness Center clinics will be closed.
Historic Alexandria
Friday, June 19: Alexandria Archaeology Museum, the Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum, the Fort Ward Museum and Historic Site, Freedom House Museum, Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, and the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum will be open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Alexandria Black History Museum will be open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. as part of the City’s Juneteenth celebrations. Find out more at alexandriava.gov/Juneteenth.
The Friendship Firehouse Museum will be closed.
Impound Lot
Friday, June 19: Closed.
The City’s impound lot is closed on all weekends and observed City holidays. Fees will continue to accrue on Saturday and Sunday, but not on holidays.
Libraries
Friday, June 19: Closed.
Parking
Friday, June 19: The Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces and residential permit parking districts. This suspension of enforcement applies only to the restrictions at legal parking spaces and does not permit parking in any normally prohibited location. Temporary no-parking signs will be enforced.
Recreation and Nature Centers
Friday, June 19: Memorial Pool, Old Town Pool, and Warwick Pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Charles Houston and Patrick Henry recreation centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Charles Houston Recreation Center will host a Juneteenth Celebration from 4 to 8 p.m.
All other City of Alexandria recreation facilities and nature centers will be closed.
Resource Recovery
There will be no service delays to residential refuse, recycling, yard waste, and curbside food waste collection for Juneteenth.
The Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center is closed on Fridays
Torpedo Factory Art Center
Friday, June 19: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visit Today’s Hours at torpedofactory.org/visit to learn of occasional 5 p.m. closures.
