Faith & Blue with Bird

National Faith & Blue Weekend 2026

This year, the Alexandria Police Department (APD) has the distinct honor of hosting the official Nationwide Kick-Off and Opening Ceremony for the 2026 National Faith & Blue Weekend, along with the APD Inaugural Prayer Breakfast.

The breakfast will bring together faith leaders and law enforcement leaders from Alexandria and across the National Capital Region for fellowship, prayer, and reflection. Community prayer and worship leaders representing the diverse faith traditions of Alexandria will help open the weekend as we come together around Peace, Unity, Leadership, and Hope.

What Is Faith & Blue Weekend?

Alexandria Police Officers are recognized during a service at the Alfred St Baptist Church during the 2025 Faith & Blue weekend.

Faith & Blue Weekend is a national initiative that brings police departments, faith-based organizations and community members together through activities that encourage conversation, understanding and collaboration.

Launched in 2020 by national police organizations and MovementForward, Inc., Faith & Blue has grown into one of the nation’s largest police-community engagement initiatives.

In Alexandria, Faith & Blue Weekend builds upon APD’s Public Safety Plan, especially its Relationship pillar, by creating welcoming opportunities for residents, faith leaders and police officers to connect outside their traditional roles.

How can I get involved?

Faith Communities

Gatherings can include a shared meal, coffee with officers, a listening session, a children's reading time, prayer or interfaith program, service project, youth activity, open house, facility tour, neighborhood walk, or another activity that brings faith community members and law enforcement together.

Community Members
Residents are encouraged to participate in Faith & Blue gatherings hosted by local faith communities. Check back for participating events and opportunities to connect, serve, and build community together.
