Report TB to the Health Department

Providers, you can report latent TB infection to the Virginia Department of Health using this online form. 

TB Clinic at Alexandria Health Department

AHD offers TB risk assessment and screening for adults (19 years of age and older) and is by appointment only. Children must attend Immunization Clinic for this service. 

Clinical services include:

  • Risk assessment (first)
  • Tuberculin skin test (TST) or Interferon Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) blood test
  • Issuance of clearance letters for those without risk factors. 

Cost: 

There is a charge for this service. Some new and current programs grant eligibility for a free IGRA TB test from AHD to individuals migrating to the United States.

  • In April 2022, the Uniting for Ukraine program began granting free TB testing eligibility to participating Ukrainians. Call (703) 746-4960 for more information.
