Are you ready to join the Alexandria Medical Reserve Corps? Register online through the Virginia Volunteer Health System. A staff member will follow up with you once your application has been received. 

The Alexandria Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a team of medical and non-medical volunteers who are trained and ready to respond to emergencies that impact public health, such as disease outbreaks, bioterrorist events, or natural disasters. MRC volunteers use their unique skills to serve the community and are critical to supporting the Alexandria Health Department’s mission to advance “Healthy People, Healthier Communities.” The Alexandria MRC is part of a national network of MRC units that serve to strengthen our nation’s public health, improve emergency response capabilities, and build community resiliency.

Volunteering with Alexandria MRC is a great way to use your unique skill set and make connections in your community. The MRC volunteer experience offers flexibility, unique training opportunities in emergency response and public health, and can help build your resume! Internships/Practicum Requests 

Human Resources and Health Department Supervisors review intern and practicum requests on a case-by-case basis. Call 703.746.4978 for more information. Many schools require that an agreement be in place before an intern can start. All interns and practicum students are subject to a background check.
