Volunteering at the Apothecary Museum

Volunteering at the Apothecary Museum
We ask for a minimum monthly commitment of 3-6 hours (the equivalent to approximately one tour shift per month) and offer a very flexible schedule. Our volunteers work the “front lines,” giving tours to the walk-in visitors, school groups, and/or special event guests that come year-round. Volunteers are needed weekdays and weekends both during the day and in the evening. The museum does involve some limited stair climbing.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more about other volunteer opportunities at the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator or call the Museum at 703.746.3852.
Current COVID protocols require volunteers to be vaccinated and to wear a mask while in the museum.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Apothecary Museum hosts one to two volunteer training classes per year. To receive information about the next class in 2022, please submit a volunteer application.
If we can not meet your needs right away for a rewarding volunteer experience, you may want to consider volunteering at another Alexandria museum. And be sure to join check our Calendar of Events for festivals, lectures, and other fun and interesting ways to participate.
