Share Your Voice on the Proposed Dominion Energy-NextEra Merger
Virginia regulators are reviewing a proposed $67 billion merger of Dominion Energy and NextEra Energy, and the public is invited to weigh in.
The State Corporation Commission (SCC) is accepting public comments on Case No. PUR-2026-00112. The outcome will shape the energy future of every Dominion customer in Virginia, including households and businesses across Alexandria.
Ways to participate:
- In person in Fairfax: October 9, 6 to 8 p.m., Fairfax County Government Center, Board Auditorium, 12000 Government Center Pkwy. Each speaker has up to two minutes.
- By phone: November 5 (8:30 to 11 a.m.), November 9 (4 to 7 p.m.) or November 10 (4 to 7 p.m.)
- In person in Richmond: November 5, 2 to 5 p.m., at the SCC
- In writing: submit comments by November 9
The last day to sign up as a public witness is November 2. A final decision is expected in early 2027.
