Housing and Homeless Services Hub

With support from partner organizations, the City provides housing and homeless services, including eviction and foreclosure prevention resources; landlord tenant mediation services; and information on shelters, affordable homeownership and rental housing, senior housing + care options, and accessibility and home repair programs.

Housing Crisis Services

The Office of Community Services (OCS) provides rental assistance to eligible, low-income persons facing a housing crisis.  The goal is to help stabilize the household to prevent evictions and homelessness.  To be screened for OCS services, please contact the Department of Community and Human Services Customer Call Center by either calling 703.746.5700, texting  703.346.5599, or coming in-person at 4850 Mark Center Dr. See a table of information on programs, how to apply, and decision wait times.For further information, please visit the Eviction Prevention Resources.

HOMELESS SERVICES: Learn what to do if you or a loved one is facing homelessness or a housing crisis, including how to access city shelters and cooling centers, the Winter Shelter, and David’s Place.

EVICTION PREVENTION RESOURCES: Learn what to do if you or a loved one is facing eviction in the city. 

FORECLOSURE PREVENTION RESOURCES: Learn what to do if you or a loved is facing foreclosure in the city. 

Housing Resources

RENTER RESOURCES: Learn about committed affordable and moderately-priced rental housing options, rental accessibility modification programs, landlord-tenant mediation services, and other renter resources.

SENIOR RESOURCES: Learn about long-term care and assisted living services, age-restricted affordable housing,  auxiliary grants, discounted memory care and independent living options, rental assistance, accessibility programs for renters and homeowners, real estate tax relief, utility assistance, in-home services, and other senior resources.

HOMEOWNER RESOURCES: Learn about the city's home rehabilitation loan and energy efficiency programs, free condominium trainings, foreclosure prevention counseling, and other homeowner resources.
