National Sheriffs’ Association Honors ASO with Prestigious Triple Crown Award
In November, the National Sheriffs’ Association presented Sheriff Sean Casey and the Sheriff’s Office with its Triple Crown award, an honor that only 51 agencies have held.
This award recognizes the Sheriff’s Office for simultaneously holding accreditations from the American Correctional Association, the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. Although the Sheriff’s Office has previously received Triple Crown recognition, this award is specifically for achievements during Sheriff Casey’s term in office.
“I’m particularly proud of this achievement as all three accreditation reviews were conducted in a 12-month period, something that was indeed challenging for our staff but also reflected our ongoing commitment to exceptional service, care and safety,” says Sheriff Casey. “I’m also honored to see the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office earn such elite recognition during the first half of my first term as Sheriff.”
Jonathan F. Thompson, Executive Director and CEO of the National Sheriffs’ Association, told Sheriff Casey that this Office is only one of five ever to attain Triple Crown status under three different sheriffs.
