Sheriff Casey welcomed two students working with Concerned Citizens Network of Alexandria this summer to shadow him during his workday. Sahil attends Alexandria City High and is a Summer Youth Employment Program participant and Jordaan goes to Kentucky Christian University and is doing an internship. CCNA volunteer Andrea Hirsch accompanied them.

Deputy Cañas teamed up with Capital Youth Empowerment Program to provide soccer coaching to Alexandria youth and encourage their positive interactions with law enforcement. Throughout July, CYEP gave classroom instruction on life skills through the El Camino curriculum and then the teens hit the soccer field with Deputy Cañas. Their new knowledge, skills and relationships will benefit them and their communities.

Sergeant Ignacio was among the deputies greeting students and providing a security presence when students at Samuel W. Tucker Elementary went back to school on July 22.

The management and residents at Presidential Greens invited public safety members to their summer celebration. Deputies and firefighters appreciated the food, fun and family atmosphere. ¡Muchas gracias a nuestros vecinos en Chirilagua!

Sheriff Casey and ASO supported the annual James K. Polk-Patrick Henry Bike Rodeo and encouraged kids how to ride safely.

Kayvon, an Alexandria City High student, is a participant in the Summer Youth Employment Program and working with the Sheriff's Office this summer. He's learning a lot about public service and outreach. Delivering Meals on Wheels is just one way we help to keep our senior neighbors safe and strong!

This summer Sergeant Ignacio got to speak with residents at The Landing about safety for seniors. ASO also works closely with Seniors Services of Alexandria and participates in programs like Senior Law Day.
