Nine deputy sheriffs graduated from the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy on December 1. Sheriff Sean Casey, along with members of his command and training staff, attended Session 153’s Deputy School graduation ceremony in Sterling.

Deputy Clinton, Deputy Dieudonne, Deputy Farmer, Deputy Gutierrez, Deputy Morales, Deputy Morrow, Deputy Naderi, Deputy Robinson and Deputy Turay, along with their classmates from the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office and Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, successfully completed 10 weeks of basic training. Deputy School focuses on jail operations and court security and includes emergency vehicle operations, firearms training, physical fitness and wellness, control tactics, active bystandership, basic legal training, inmate supervision, cell and person searches, first aid, and effectively serving diverse communities.

During the ceremony, Deputy Farmer and Deputy Robinson were part of the honor guard that presented the colors, and Deputy Morales and Deputy Farmer were also recognized for having the second and third highest scores, respectively, in academics.

The graduates will now complete field training at the Sheriff’s Office before beginning their regular assignments at the Adult Detention Center.
