Car Seat Safety Program
The Alexandria Sheriff's Office is pleased to offer the Car Seat Safety Program - a free program for community members who are looking to ensure their kids are safe while traveling on the road.
What is the program?
The car seat safety program helps parents safely install child car seats into vehicles. Deputies who are certified in car seat installation help parents install child car seats at pre-planned installation events. Parents come with their cars, the car seat, and the installation manual for the car seat. Deputies then walk parents through how to properly install the seat, or inspect a seat that is already installed, to ensure it is safe. This program is offered free of charge.
When are the Installation Events?
- October 17, 2026 | 9 AM to 1 PM
- December 12, 2026 | 9 AM to 1 PM
- February 19, 2027 | 9 AM to 1 PM
Where Will The Events Take Place?
The Car Seat Installation events will take place in the visitor parking lot of the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center, located at 2003 Mill Road, Alexandria, VA.

- Vehicle

Is Registration Required?
