Since October 17, 17 inmates at the Alexandria Adult Detention Center have tested positive for covid-19. To reduce the risk of additional spread, those inmates, as well as those in the same housing units, have been quarantined.
These modifications have been made in consultation with our own medical staff and the Alexandria Health Department with a priority being placed on the health and welfare of all staff and inmates in our custody. Our medical staff will conduct covid testing of inmates as necessary and Sheriff’s Office staff will make adjustments to protocols and inmate housing accordingly.
Family members of inmates who have questions may contact Chief Deputy Shelbert Williams at 703.746.5038.
