Inmates Enjoy Holiday Program Featuring Live Music
On December 20, residents at the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center (ADC) enjoyed a heart-warming holiday program featuring live music from local musicians and fellow inmates.
The program included a performance from the Yellow Door Concert Series with Vaughn Ambrose, Zackery Pride and Gregory Carlton playing jazz-inspired versions of “Winter Wonderland,” “The Chipmunk Christmas Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late),” “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire),” and “This Christmas.”
They were followed by the ADC’s own Holiday Choir directed by Kammie Stubblefield, the library services coordinator. The 12-member chorus sang “This Christmas” as well as a medley of Christmas songs.
Then saxophonist Otis Hicks, Jr. delivered uplifting renditions of “Have Yourself a Merry Christmas,” “This Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland.”
Sheriff Sean Casey expressed his appreciation to all the performers for sharing the spirit of the season with the ADC community. He also thanked the Inmate Services team for their work in making the program a success. After the formal program ended, attendees enjoyed soft drinks and cupcakes.
