With the recent snow and ice, the Sheriff’s Office had teams of deputies ready to staff the Detention Center, others who plowed and cleared snow so the Public Safety Center was accessible throughout the storm, and those who provided critical transportation to our medical and food service contractors and the Magistrate’s Office.

Even after the storm ended, dangerous and difficult conditions persisted so ASO provided support to our community. Sheriff Sean Casey and several deputies delivered Meals on Wheels to residents two days in a row, ensuring that those homebound neighbors did not go hungry. Sheriff Casey also plowed several streets and cleared access and parking for our community partner Casa Chirilagua which serves hundreds of Alexandrians.

If you are looking for a way to help your neighbors, consider volunteering as a Snow Buddy.
