Sheriff Casey visited the Ruby Tucker Family Center in July to read to kids there and encourage them to keep up their reading, especially in the summer.

In July, Cameron Cafe hosted Coffee with a Cop, and Undersheriff Robyn Nichols, Chief Deputy Shahram Fard and Police Captain Jerry Newcomb appreciated the conversations they had with neighbors who stopped by.

Several deputies, including Master Deputy Todd Stubblefield, attended Coffee with a Cop at St. Elmo's in Del Ray and got to chat with community members.

Master Deputy Antonio Villatoro participates in the summer soccer program organized by the Capital Youth Empowerment Program for underserved youth.

Hundreds of neighbors turned out for the community cookout in Chirilagua and Sheriff Casey was happy to meet many of them.

At the community cookout near Andrew Adkins, Deputy Taylor James got to speak with neighbors and other community partners. Deputies also distribute gun locks at these events.

As the school year was winding down, ASO participated in the Dare to Dream Career Fair at Jefferson-Houston. Professional staff members, like HR Director Latoscha Hart, and sworn personnel, like Master Deputy Wakeatin Carter, spoke with middle schoolers about career opportunities, interests and preparedness.

At Senior Law Day, Deputy Daniel Mendez distributed free locking devices to secure firearms and medication to help keep seniors and their family members safe.

Sheriff Casey attended the First Responders luncheon at Elancé at Alexandria. Meeting with these residents and many others made the event extra special!
