The Site Plan Review Unit works with Planning & Zoning, Transportation & Environmental Services and Parks & Recreation to ensure minimum emergency access and fire department connections are achieved for all new mid rise to high rise building developments.

The Site-Plan Review Unit works with the Fire Department, Planning & Zoning, Transportation & Environmental Services, Department of Education and Parks & Recreation to facilitate building code compliance. This includes building evaluations for childcare facilities, site feasibility, flood mitigation and pre-building permit code consultations, inspections, and reviews.

The Site Plan Unit is responsible for multi-agency plan reviews, childcare building evaluations/inspections required by the Department of Education and as-built bond release site inspections. This unit works in tandem with the Fire Department, Planning & Zoning, Transportation & Environmental Services to ensure emergency access; review of building height and area; fire flows; fire department connections; fire lanes; accessibility and site feasibility prior to building permit application and issuance.
