In celebration of the season, the Sheriff’s Office held a festive holiday program for inmates at the Adult Detention Center. Sixty-five men and women attended the program which featured a spiritual reflection from Master Deputy Stubblefield, an uplifting performance by saxophonist Otis Hicks, Jr., cake and soft drinks, and closing remarks by LaTanya Ervin, Director of Inmate Services.

The audience greatly enjoyed listening to Mr. Hicks who performed several songs including favorites “This Christmas,” “Celebrate Me Home,” “Merry Christmas Baby,” and “Silent Night.” He told the attendees that he wanted to be able to perform for them and took time off from his job to be there for the celebration. He also wanted them to know that others were thinking about them, especially during the holidays.

This was the second year that Mr. Hicks has provided holiday entertainment for our inmates, and Director Ervin presented him with a gift basket and thanked him for sharing the true meaning of the holidays.
