Three Deputies Graduate from Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy
Congratulations to Deputy Gregg, Deputy Hernandez and Deputy Ruiz on their graduation from the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy! All three successfully completed eight weeks of intensive Jail Officer Basic Training and Deputy Gregg was recognized for top achievements in the class.
Sheriff Sean Casey and members of his command and training staff attended the graduation ceremony of Jail Basic Class 217 in Fredericksburg on March 12. During the program, Michael C. Harvey, executive director of the academy, presented Deputy Gregg with the Top Academic Achievement Award and the Top Overall Achievement Award. Deputy Ruiz was a runner up for the Top Skills Achievement Award.
The academy training included defensive tactics, firearms, legal, communication, and topics specific to jail operations and security, such as control of contraband, inmate classification, and transporting inmates. The new deputies will now continue in field training at the Alexandria Adult Detention Center.
