Sheriff’s Office Restricts Access, Modifies Protocols in Response to COVID-19

To reduce COVID-19 (coronavirus) risks to inmates and staff, the Sheriff’s Office has modified certain programs and protocols, including increased medical screening and implementation of video visitation.

The following changes have been made:

  • Volunteer access to the Adult Detention Center has been suspended effective March 7, 2020.
  • Tours of the Adult Detention Center have been suspended effective March 7, 2020.
  • Traditional social visitation at the Adult Detention Center resumed in June 2022.
  • In-person professional (attorney-client) meetings fully resumed in June 2022.
  • All inmates issued cloth masks on April 16, 2020, consistent with updated CDC guidelines.
  • All staff working inside the Detention Center are to wear N95 masks effective April 22, 2020.

This list may be updated as the Sheriff’s Office continues to evaluate its protocols and programs.
