The Resource Recovery Holiday Schedule is posted below. On holidays observed by the City, City offices are closed and refuse/recycling collection services are, unless otherwise noted, delayed one day for the remainder of the week.
Holiday Schedule
January 2026
JANUARY 1 – New Year’s Day (Thursday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and leaf collections will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be on Monday, December 29.
- Tuesday collection will be on Tuesday, December 30.
- Wednesday collection will be on Wednesday, December 31.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday, January 2.
- Curbside food waste collection will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be on Monday, December 29.
- Wednesday collection will be on Wednesday, December 31.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday, January 2.
- Friday collection will be on Saturday, January 3.
JANUARY 19 – Martin Luther King Day (Monday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and leaf collections will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be on Tuesday, January 20.

- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday, January 22.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday, January 23.
- Curbside food waste collection will be delayed one day.

- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday, February 19.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday, February 20.
- Curbside food waste collection will be on the regular schedule.
- The Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center will be closed on Monday, February 16.
May 2026
MAY 21 – National Public Works Event (Thursday)
- T&ES Engagement/Training
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and leaf collection will be delayed one day only on Thursday, May 21.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday, May 22.
- Curbside food waste collection will follow the normal collection schedule.
MAY 25 – Memorial Day (Monday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, and yard waste collections will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be on Tuesday, May 26.
- Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday, May 27.
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday, May 28.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday, May 29.
- Curbside food waste collection will be on the regular schedule.
- Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center will be closed on Monday, May 25.
June 2026
JUNE 19 – Juneteenth (Friday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, and yard waste collection will not be impacted.
- Curbside food waste collection will not be impacted
July 2026
JULY 4 – Independence Day (Saturday)
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and food waste collection will not be impacted.
September 2026
SEPTEMBER 7 – Labor Day (Monday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, and yard waste collection will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be on Tuesday, September 8.
- Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday, September 9.
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday, September 10.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday, September 11.
- Curbside food waste collection will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be on Tuesday, September 8

- Monday collection will be on Tuesday, October 13.
- Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday, October 14.
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday, October 15.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday, October 16.
- Curbside food waste collection will be delayed one day only on Monday
- Monday collection will be on Tuesday, October 13.
- The Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center will be closed on Monday, October 12.
November 2026
NOVEMBER 11 – Veterans’ Day (Wednesday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and leaf collection will be delayed one day only on Wednesday & Thursday.
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday, November 12.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday, November 13.
- Curbside food waste collection will follow the normal collection schedule.
NOVEMBER 26 – Thanksgiving Day (Thursday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and leaf collection will follow the normal collection service schedule. Thursday collection will take place on Thanksgiving Day, with no impact to residents.
- Curbside food waste collection will not slide.
December 2026
DECEMBER 10 – T&ES Winter All Hands (Thursday)
- T&ES Engagement/Training
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and leaf collection will be delayed one day only on Thursday, December 10.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday, December 11.
- Curbside food waste collection will follow the normal collection schedule.
DECEMBER 24 – Christmas Eve (Thursday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and leaf collection will not be impacted.
- Curbside food waste collection will follow the normal collection schedule
DECEMBER 25 – Christmas Day (Friday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and leaf collection will not be impacted.
- Curbside food waste collection will be delayed one day on Friday only.
- Friday collection will be on Saturday, December 26.
Missed Collection?
Your preparation of material for collection is critical for us to recover resources, ensure safe collection, and leave the area neat and clean. If your material is not collected by the end of the day, check for a tag that explains why the City could not collect.
COMMON PROBLEMS INCLUDE
- Collection container, bag, or item is too heavy
- Items such as carpet or lumber longer than 4 feet
- Contains unacceptable items such as construction debris, dirt, brick, and stones (residents should call a private hauler to dispose of these items)
- Dangerous or messy liquids such as gasoline and undried paint
- Trash mixed with recycling
