Antique Fire Apparatus Muster Cancelled, Museum Still Open!
Antique Fire Apparatus Muster Cancelled, Museum Still Open!
Due to expected weather conditions, the "Friendship and Firefighting in Alexandria" antique fire apparatus muster scheduled for Saturday, May 18, has been cancelled. Historic Alexandria and The Friendship Veterans Fire Engine Association (FVFEA) regret any inconvenience this may cause and will announce a rescheduled date soon.
Despite the cancellation, the Friendship Firehouse Museum at 107 South Alfred Street will remain open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. Visitors can explore the museum's historic firefighting vehicles, including the recently conserved Prettyman Hose Reel Carriage, built in 1858 by Alexandria coachmaker and fire company member Robert Prettyman.
We encourage you to visit the museum and learn more about Alexandria’s firefighting history. Additional details are available at Friendship Firehouse Museum.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you to the museum!
