The Untold Stories: “Bloodlines of the Slave Trade” Film Screening on Feb. 25th!

For Immediate Release: February 20, 2024

In honor of Black History Month, the Alexandria Film Festival presents "Bloodlines of the Slave Trade," a riveting documentary centered on the lives of two individuals linked by genetics to notorious 1830s slave traders in Alexandria. Rodney, a Black individual, and Susanna, a white individual, share vastly different lived experiences as their slave-trading ancestors continue to shape their destinies.

Join us on February 25th at The Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum (201 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA) for a unique cinematic experience. Doors open at 6:00 pm, with the film starting promptly at 6:30 pm.

The 73-minute documentary will be followed by a moderated Q&A session featuring Audrey Davis, Director of the City's African American History Division, and film subjects Susanna Grannis and Melanie Pflaum. Don't miss this great opportunity to delve into the complex interplay of history and present-day reality.

Secure your tickets for $15 at Eventive.com or purchase them at the door. Immerse yourself in the powerful narratives of living descendants connected to historical atrocities, as "Bloodlines of the Slave Trade" brings untold stories to the forefront.
